“Sixteen” is a moving and immersive drama that explores the intense and often unspoken emotions of adolescence. At its heart are two sixteen year olds navigating the confusion, excitement and fear that come with first love and sexual discovery. Through a unique blend of colloquial speech and lyrical language, the play shifts between moments of humour, tenderness and heartache, giving voice to the thoughts and feelings that young people often struggle to express.
The story unfolds through intimate monologues and shared memories, offering an unfiltered look at how a single moment can shape a life. The characters speak directly to the audience, inviting them into a world of vulnerability, awkwardness and longing. Supported by a subtle and evocative musical score, “Sixteen” is both a portrait of youth and a reflection on how early experiences continue to shape us well into adulthood.
